What’s biggest obstacle youencountered on your path to college and how did you overcome it?
The cost of going to college. The way I overcame it was competing for scholarships, and since I did this I was able to receive a scholarship to help research during my undergraduate years!
What was the best advice you got on your path to college and who did you get it from?
Always look for small scholarships, everyone goes for the big name ones. You should try for the $1,000 or up because some people don’t go for those. I received this advice from my parents when I was looking for scholarships.
Why do you want to go to college?
College is the time you make your future for yourself. Everything that you do in college is shape who you are and what you will do with your life. You will meet new people, experience new things, and hopefully have fun!
How did RaiseMe change how you thought about applying to college?
RaiseMe helped me see what I needed to look for in a college for the cost of attendance. If you don’t understand the cost then it could break your bank, or you might not be getting the bang for your buck.
What’s the best advice you would give your 9th grade self about college?
Start looking, the earlier the better. You will have more time to look for scholarships and understand what you want to do for a certain college.
Who in your life has helped you the most as you worked your way to college and how did they help?
My parents were the ones who helped me the most. They kept pushing me when I didn’t want to keep going and were always there for me no matter what.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey
What’s your future career ambition?
To become a nurse, either a OB-GYN, labor and delivery, or pre-natal nurse.
