Camp RaiseMe Recap: A Look At Our 2019 Team Offsite
Each summer, we bring the whole company together for our annual Team Offsite. In recent years, we’ve stayed at Santa Cruz and Monterey beaches. This year, we glamped at Costanoa Lodge in Pescadero, CA! ☀️
We just wrapped our 2019 Team Offsite and are excited about the 2nd half of the year which includes our Back to School Season where we see more than 40% of our student growth numbers — that’s THOUSANDS of students that will use our product to discover and realize their college potential! We are so proud and honored to be a part of student’s journeys. To realize our mission, we know we need to continue building a collaborative team across departments, and provide teams with the tools and frameworks to create innovative and creative solutions to complex challenges.
That’s exactly what we focused on at our company offsite this year. On Day 1, we had a few team members lead the full team through a design thinking exercise. We wanted the team to walk away with a new framework for problem solving that they could use in their daily work, and to build close working relationships with team members they don’t typically work with. We broke into cross-functional teams and worked through big challenges facing the company.
On Day 2, we presented our big design sprint solutions and assessed teams based on the ICE (Impact, Confidence, Ease) framework. We also played some field games and had a blast! (see pics below for The Great Potato Sack Race — 2019)
After a productive 2 days, we feel re-energized around our company mission and are ready to tackle Back to School and our biggest year yet!
